Your new Solar Hot Water System in your primary residence entitles you to Tax Credits on both your federal and New York State tax returns.

Tax Credits are a dollar reduction in the taxes you pay.

You will get a tax credit of 30% of the installed cost of your system on your federal tax return - up to a maximum credit of $2,000.

You will receive another 25% of the installed cost of your system on your New York State tax return -- up to a maximum credit of $5,000.
